Deep Tissue Massage
These techniques utilize strong pressure, slow, deep, strokes, and friction across the grain of the muscle fibers to release chronic muscle tension.
Sports Massage
This style of massage works specifically on problems resulting from athletic performance, training, and injury. It uses techniques similar to those of Swedish and deep-tissue massages but the focus is on minimizing fatigue, soreness and cleansing tissues to shorten recuperation time.
Myofascial Release
A form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction, pain, and restriction of motion. By applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions it relaxes contracted muscles and eliminates pain.
Rehabilitation Massage
A combination of massage techniques used specifically to speed recovery after surgery or injury.
Neuromuscular Therapy
This form of massage is used to relieve pain, stimulate circulation, and loosen trigger points. It focuses on individual muscles rather than muscle groups and uses deep pressure.
Trigger Point Therapy
This type of bodywork utilizes ischemic compression of individual areas of hypersensitivity in muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Trigger Points are hypersensitive nerve bundles that can cause pain and discomfort to a larger area.
Orthopedic Massage
This approach to massage focuses on the body as a comprehensive system and addresses dysfunctions accordingly.
Assisted Stretching
This is table modified Thai bodywork. Thai bodywork is similar to assisted yoga because of its emphasis on opening and stretching the body. It is traditionally done on a mat on the floor where the practitioner, remaining focused on their own center, guides the recipient through various yoga poses. In assisted stretching, the therapist guides you through a series of stretches designed to release broad patterns of tension. A short session will leave you feeling taller, lighter, more mobile, and with a greater sense of well-being.
